Located in Pleasant Hill, KC-30 was one of three Nike missile sites in Missouri and operated from 1958 to 1968. For the next twenty years, the site was used as a training center for the Missouri National Guard, until it was deactivated and placed on the Base Reassignment and Closure (BRAC) list in 1989.
A long abandoned steam generating plant known as the "6th and Wall" Plant. When the rest of the building was demolished, it was decided that the basement (plant) be kept to still act as a de-superheating and pressurising system.

Vine Street Workhouse information: "The building is known as the Vine Street Workhouse. It was designed by Wallace Love and built with the help of prisoners between 1895 and 1897. Prisoners also helped quarry the native limestone used in the structure. Until 1911, the castle-like building served as a municipal prison complete with dungeons in the basement to house the toughest offenders."
Major hike to get there. Turned out to be a bit smaller then we all thought, but still fun nonetheless. One day we should go back and explore the whole thing.
